A school meal is an important part of the school day for a child. Lauriston prides itself on its reputation of being a healthy school and providing the pupils with excellent healthy lunches. Lauriston works in partnership with Ashlyns Organics Ltd a family farm in Essex who has helped transform school meals both in Essex and Hackney. They use local produce wherever they can and have set up a supplier group of local producers to supply the meat, fruit and vegetables. The eggs are local free range and the milk and yoghurts are organic from Somerset. The meat is all farm assured which promotes high animal welfare systems and they have their own butchers to prepare everything. All the meals will be prepared on site using fresh raw ingredients except for the fish on Friday. To find out more about Ashlyns then please visit www.ashlyns.co.uk.
