Welcome to Lauriston. Lauriston is an exciting, innovative place in which to work and learn. At our school we aim to provide a warm, happy and stimulating environment in which children enjoy learning and are able to appreciate its importance and relevance to their lives.

Our new school is situated in south-east Hackney close to Victoria Park. Lauriston is an inclusive school where all learners feel valued, safe and happy. We actively celebrate and embrace the many different cultural backgrounds represented in our school and we are wholeheartedly committed to the notion of a harmonious and caring multi-cultural society.

Vision

Lauriston brings together a community of learners. Our vision is to create a school where every child achieves his/her full potential through a relentless focus on high quality teaching and learning.

At our school we aim to provide an exciting, relevant and inspiring curriculum with creativity at its heart. We believe that being creative is more than just being good at art or music. It is what makes us human. We are created to be creative and it is therefore at the very heart of the educational process, a way of working, thinking and being that makes us whole and inspires us in whatever we do; discovering and releasing this inner creativity should be the goal of education.

We aim to provide a warm, happy and stimulating environment in which children enjoy learning and are able to appreciate its importance and relevance to their lives. We want all children to follow the three key elements of life at this school – we call them the three Ls:

• Learning – the main reason for coming to school each day
• Love - our children are taught to live together and look after each other
• Laughter - attending Lauriston should be an enjoyable experience for everyone.
